RIP Edward Sipler

Sipler, Edward V. Jr

Edward Vernon Sipler, Jr. passed away at home, surrounded by his loving family on September 4, 2016 after a brief yet courageous battle with cancer.

Born in El Paso, Texas in 1939, Edward traveled many roads of life with wonder, adventure and curiosity which he often shared with his wonderful storytelling with his family and friends. Edward served two tours as a Green Beret in the Vietnam War. After he ventured to California where he met the love of his life, Rosa. Edward explored his curiosity in life as a musician, photographer, sculptor, painter, jewelry maker, small engine pilot and instructor, scuba diver instructor. He eventually settled in his beloved State of New Mexico where he was owner of Sipler's Antiques. After retiring from Los Alamos Labs, he became an actor and prop master with in the NM film community. His love of geology and archaeology lured him to the Tularosa area where he become a member of the Gold Prospector's Society.

He was a loving husband and father, a wonderful storyteller with a sense of humor and playfulness who exemplified it was NEVER too late to learn something new and try again.

He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Rosa Sipler; two daughters, Bonita (Nona) Sipler and Kira Sipler; brother Walter Sipler; sister Barbara Van Asperan; niece Andrea Robertson and nephew Joe Van Asperan; and cousin Harold (Sonny) Clark.

The family wishes to thank all their extended family and friends for their wonderful care and support during this difficult time, especially Viola Hurtado, Mark and Jean Jones, Tom Cox, Donna Calhoun, Steve Stevens, Fred Skip Long and the Marco Dominguez family, Bryan Vozka and family, Michael Dabrowski and his extended friends in Seattle, WA.

At Edward's request, there will be no service and requests all donations and flowers be donated to either the ASPCA or the .

Hasta Luego, Papi....
