RIP Robert Christopher

May 29, 1922 - November 27, 2015 Longtime Hollywood Hills resident, Robert Christopher, age 93, passed away peacefully after a brief illness on Friday November 27th at 12:15 pm, surrounded by his beloved, Patty, close friends and his caregiver. Bob was born on May 29, 1922 in Jersey City, New Jersey to parents Maria and Anthony Esposito. He was predeceased by his parents, first wife Lynette Christopher, sister Maria Whalen, nephew Mark Whalen and is survived by nephew Mathew Whalen of New Jersey. He graduated from James J. Ferris High School in 1941 where he first developed his passion for acting. He further refined his theatrical skills while attending the Feagin School of Dramatic Art in New York City. His pursuit for an acting career was interrupted with his decision to enlist in the U.S. Marine Corp and serve our country during World War II where he saw action in the South Pacific through the end of the war. After only two television acting parts in 1952 and 1953, Bob got his first big screen part appearing in the "Barefoot Contessa" starring Humphrey Bogart and Ava Gardner in 1954 followed by "Bedeviled" starring Ann Baxter in 1955. He went on to produce or appear in more than 60 movies and television programs that spanned over the next 25 years. Between acting jobs, Bob began a second career at Executive Car Leasing and quickly rose to Vice President working with many entertainment celebrities such as Marvin Gaye and Sigourney Weaver as well as Las Vegas hotel executives and the Teamsters Union. Up until month ago, Bob's daily routine included stopping at the Executive Leasing office and then have lunch at Marco's Restaurant with his close friends. Services will be held at Forest Lawn Hollywood Hills on Friday Dec. 11th, viewing at 12:00 noon followed by service at 12:30 pm. In lieu of flowers or donations, please make a contribution in Bob's name to Actors and Others for Animals. www.actorsandothers.com A celebration of Bob's life will follow the service for close friends and family at Marco's Restaurant, 8200 Santa Monica Blvd, West Hollywood between 3pm - 5pm.
