Robert Emmet Morris (aka Parnell) Robert passed away November 10 in Novato. Born April 11, 1936 in Chicago to Gerald and Pauline Morris, his family moved west in 1938. . Bob graduated from Glendale High School and served in the US Navy, then attended Pasadena City College and Cal State Los Angeles where he met his first wife, Jane, in acting class. Early in his acting career, Bob chose the working name Robert Parnell. He performed in many plays in Los Angeles, including the West Coast premiere of Edward Albee's "Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf?" To support his young family, he worked a number of jobs, rising to Vice President at Krout & Schneider, a leading private detective agency. In the early 80's, Bob decided to follow his passion and pursue acting full time. Some of his favorite roles were in "Golf With Alan Shepard", "Moonlight in da Escanaba", "Noises Off" and "The Crucible" in theaters around the Bay Area and beyond. A member of Actors' Equity and SAG-AFTRA, he appeared in film, TV and commercials and played saxophone in the Corte Madera Town Band. In 2009, he married his longtime partner Carole Haan. Bob is survived by Carole, Jane Morris, sister Pamela DeBarruel of Sacramento, son Brent Morris of Albuquerque, daughter Colleen Morris of Santa Cruz, four grandchildren, Tobe and many loved ones who cherished his wicked sense of humor, love of theater and the written word, and a compassionate, kind nature. A celebration of Bob's life will be held in the New Year.
