Franco Interlenghi has died
Gorgeous "Sciuscià" by De Sica

The actor died in his home in Rome Ponte Milvio. He was directed by the greatest from Fellini to Antonioni

Franco Interlenghi died this morning at 11:30 am in his home in Rome Ponte Milvio. The actor was born in Rome in 1931, at fifteen he was an extraordinary actor in  "Sciuscià" by Vittorio De Sica, and then the season of Neorealism, was directed by Antonioni and Fellini in cinema, theater and Luchino Visconti. The news of his death was delivered by his daughter Antonella. "The disappearance of Franco Interlenghi deprives Italian cinema of a great performer who crossed in over sixty years of career the most important seasons of our film," said the sad news Minister Dario Franceschini.

Farewell to 'beef'

Clean face and intense, after collaborating with De Sica, was interpreter of many films directed, by among others, Michelangelo Antonioni, Federico Fellini and Mauro Bolognini. Starred in Don Camillo (1952) I vinti (1953), I vitelloni  (1953), Giovani mariti (1958). Luchino Visconti directed him in the play in Death of a Salesman. In recent years he had slowed his activities appearing in roles not prominent, but always effective. The last film in which he participated is "La bella società" in 2010, Gianpaolo Cugno, with Giancarlo Giannini, Raoul Bova, Maria Grazia Cucinotta and his wife Antonella Lualdi, who Interlenghi married in 1955 and with whom he had two daughters both actresses, Stella and Antonellina.
