The actress María Eugenia Llamas, "The Tucita", famous for her role in movies with Pedro Infante died Sunday night in the hospital Chapalita in Zapopan, Jalisco, at the age of 70, due to cardiac arrest. Through a statement reported that the actress had come Saturday to the city of Guadalajara to settle to live with her daughter Maru Lozano Llamas, after living for three years in Tepoztlan, Morelos.
Shortly after her arrival she complained of pains in her spine so he was admitted to Zapopan, where she died at approximately 9:00 pm; the actess is survived by her three children Luzma, Maru and Fernando and three grandchildren.
Llamas rose to fame as a child actress with the Mexican movie star Pedro Infante in movies like Los tres Huastecos y El seminarista.
Born in Mexico City in 1944, after her parents Joseph and Mary Mary Llamas Andresco came to Mexico in 1939 as refugees from the Spanish Civil War.
Her charisma captivated filmmakers like Ismael Rodríguez and Alejandro Galindo, and by adulthood she was sharing credits with Mario Almada brothers Fernando and Humberto Busto and Luis Gerardo Mendez.
After four years, the little actress made her film debut and conquered audiences with her role as Tucita and phrases "Why leave me alone if you already know how I am" and "is a convicted" in the film Los tres Huastecos directed by Ismael Rodriguez and starring Pedro Infante, Blanca Esthela and Sara García Pavón.
Her first performance earned her a nomination for the Ariel Awards, given by the Mexican Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences (AMACC) in the category of Best Children's Performance, and although she did not get the recognition, it was awarded two years later for her performance in Los niños miran al cielo (1950), Robert Rodriguez.

Her last appearance on the big screen was under the direction of Jesus Mario Lozano in the film Más allá de mí, in which also appeared Humberto Busto, Flor Payan and Luis Gerardo Mendez.
In Nuevo Leon she was coordinator of the National Institute of Fine Arts (INBA) and played a large teaching to teach courses and workshops in storytelling stage, theater and creativity, and was Director of Culture of the Municipality of Monterrey.
