RIP Joe Viskocil Master special and visual effects craftsman Joe Viskocil passed away this morning in Los Angeles. He was best known for his miniature and pyrotechnic work on STAR WARS (1977), THE EMPIRE STRIKES BACK (1980), THE TERMINATOR (1984), TERMINATOR 2: JUDGEMENT DAY (1991). He won the Academy Award for Best Visual Effects for his work on INDEPENDENCE DAY (1996).
