Ilaria Occhini has died, a film, television and theater actress and for over fifty years the companion of the writer Raffaele La Capria. Born in Florence on March 28, 1934, she had grown up in a culturally stimulating environment, daughter of the writer Barna Occhini, nephew on her mother's side of the writer Giovanni Papini (who describes her as a child in the short story La mia Ilaria ) and for the paternal part of the Senator of the Kingdom of Italy Pier Ludovico Occhini.
She made her debut at the age of 19 in the film Terza Liceo under the pseudonym of Isabella Redi, before graduating from the National Academy of Dramatic Art in Rome. On television, she was directed by Anton Giulio Majano, she established herself very young in the dramas L'Alfiere and Jane Eyre, in theater she debuted in 1957 in the Impresario delle Smirne by Carlo Goldoni directed by Luchino Visconti.

In 2010 she won the David di Donatello for Best Supporting Actress with Ferante Ozpetek's Wandering Mine and won the Silver Ribbon for Lifetime Achievement .
