Ilaria Occhini, actress of cinema, theater and TV, died

She was 85 years old. She had worked with the greatest directors, from Visconti to Ronconi, Patroni Griffi. Married for half a century with the writer Raffaele La Capria, she won the David di Donatello for her grandmother's role in Ozpetek's 'Loose Mines'

Ilaria Occhini has died, a film, television and theater actress and for over fifty years the companion of the writer Raffaele La Capria. Born in Florence on March 28, 1934, she had grown up in a culturally stimulating environment, daughter of the writer Barna Occhini, nephew on her mother's side of the writer Giovanni Papini (who describes her as a child in the short story La mia Ilaria ) and for the paternal part of the Senator of the Kingdom of Italy Pier Ludovico Occhini.

She made her debut at the age of 19 in the film Terza Liceo under the pseudonym of Isabella Redi, before graduating from the National Academy of Dramatic Art in Rome. On television, she was directed by Anton Giulio Majano, she established herself very young in the dramas L'Alfiere and Jane Eyre, in theater she debuted in 1957 in the Impresario delle Smirne by Carlo Goldoni directed by Luchino Visconti.

Ilaria Occhini has also interpreted numerous films, rarely in parts as a protagonist; among the most successful features, the one in the comedy “Welcome to the Gori House” of 1992 which earned her the Silver Ribbon for Best Supporting Actress.

In 2005 she played the role of the mother in the four seasons of the popular Rai fiction Provaci ancora prof . In 2008 she was the protagonist of Black Sea, a film by Federico Bondiwhich earned her several awards, such as the David di Donatello nomination and the victory of the Golden Leopard for the best actress at the Locarno International Film Festival. In 2010 she won the David di Donatello for Best Supporting Actress with Ferante Ozpetek's Wandering Mine and won the Silver Ribbon for Lifetime Achievement . Also for Mine vaganti he won the Alida Valli award for best supporting actress at Bif & st 2011.
