Valeria Valeri has died, a life on the stage. Then on TV with Gian Burrasca and 'Un medico in famiglia'

She was 97 years old. In her long career she had also worked in dubbing and film. The news was given by her daughter Chiara Salerno, conceived with the actor Enrico Maria Salerno.

Valeria Valeri has died , a life on the stage since she made her debut in her twenties until a few seasons ago. The actress was born in Rome on December 8,1921 as Valeria Tulli, she had never stopped working. She was 97 years old. The news was given by her daughter Chiara Salerno, conceived with the actor Enrico Maria Salerno.

In her long career she had been on stage in theaters throughout Italy, starting with Gino Cervi and Andreina Pagnani, then joining the Compagnia del Teatro Stabile of Genoa, reciting texts by Giraudoux, Chekhov, Dostoevsky. Many famous associations with Alberto Lupo in '63 -'64 and above all between the late 60s and the early 70s with Alberto Lionello with whom she performed in many brilliant comedies. At the end of the 1970s she starre with Gino Bramieri and Paola Tedesco in the comedy by Terzoli and Vaime “Anche i bancari hanno un'anima”. Then in the 80s on stage with Paolo Ferrari in plays such as Cactus Flower by Barillet and Gredy, Vuoti a rendere by Maurizio Costanzo, Sinceramente bugiardi Alan Ayckbourn, which was taken on tour for three years and in which she stars with her daughter Chiara.

At the beginning of the sixties, she met Enrico Maria Salerno who will give a fruitful collaboration between artist and daughter. She also participated in the television series La famiglia Benvenuti. To the TV she will return periodically, is the mother of Gianburrasca in the series with Rita Pavone, directed by Lina Wertmueller, is in Desperately Giulia from the novel by Sveva Casati Modignani, directed by Salerno, then the series Compagni di scuola up to participation in Un medico in famiglia, her latest commitment was alongside Camillo Milli, Lino Banfi and Milena Vukotic.

Along with her theatrical and television career, she also participates in some cinematographic participations, while her career as a voice actress was also very important. She lent her voice to Julie Andrew, Natalie Wood and Anne Bancroft. The last appearance is the homage of Massimo Ranieri to the great prose actress, then ninety-four, in 2016 in the transmission Sogno e son desto. The funeral will take place tomorrow, June 12, at 11.30 am at the Church of the Artists of Rome in Piazza del Popolo.
