Alessandro Panaro died yesterday in Geneva: the famous Italian actress was 79 years old

The actress Alessandra Panaro died yesterday. Born in 1939, she was due to be 80 on December 14th, and she expired, as announced by the Ansa agency, in Geneva, at a private clinic where she had been hospitalized for a few weeks. The Panaro was considered a classic simple beauty, a girl next door, who became famous in particular in 1956, on the occasion of Dino Risi's film, “Poveri ma belli”. Her career began only two years earlier, in 1954, when he starred in the film "Il barcaiolo di Amalfi", directed by Mino Roli, followed by two more films in '55. As mentioned above, it was however a poor but beautiful the film that gave her the great success, Risian trilogy which was then completed with “Belle ma povere” in 1957 and “Poveri milionari del” in 1959. At the same time Panaro also took part in the television program the ‘Musichiere of Mario Riva’, in the company of Lorella De Luca with whom she formed the "girlfriends of Italy".

She also worked with Terence Hill in “Cerasella” in 1959, and with Totò, and was directed in her career by directors such as Luchino Visconti and Alessandro Blasetti. After a first parenthesis in which she acted mainly in Italian comedies, in the sixties she took part in some mythological and adventurous films such as "Ulisso against Ercole" of 1962, "Il Figlio del capitan Blood" again in '62, "30 Winchesters for El Diablo” of 1965 (as Topsy Collins) and many others. She married twice, initially with the banker Jean-Pierre Sabet, until his death in 1983, and then with the actor Giancarlo Sbragia, who died eleven years later, in 1994. After leaving Italy she moved to a permanently to Switzerland , in Geneva, where she died yesterday. The members of the Panaro family reported it to the Ansa agency.
