Russian cinematographer Vadim Ivanovich Yusov died today, August 23, 2013, in Moscow. He was 84. Vadim also served as a professor at the Gerasimov Institute of Cinematography. He was known for his collaborations with Andrei Tarkovsky on “The Steamroller and the Violin:, “Ivan's Childhood” directed by Andrei Rublev “Solaris” and with Georgi Daneliya on “I Step Through Moscow”. He won a number of Nika Awards and Golden Osella for Ivan Dykhovichny's “The Black Monk” at the Venice International Film Festival in 1988.Born in Leningrad, Russia Yusov was the cinematographer on 1974’s “The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn” and “Mexico in Flames” directed by Sergei Bondarchuk and starring Franco Nero and Ursula Andress.
