DEFA director Rolf Losansky has died at 85.

The children's film director Rolf Losansky died with 85 years on Thursday in Potsdam. This was confirmed by a spokeswoman for the Defa Foundation on request. "Potsdamer Neueste Nachrichten" had reported his death first. Losansky was "The school ghost" made famous with his Defa children's films as "A Snowman for Africa"​​(1977), "Moritz in the Advertising Pillar" (1983). Born on February 18, 1931 in Frankfurt and de Oder, Germahy. For his more than 20 feature films, he has received numerous awards. With his last DEFA film "Zirri that Wolkenschaf" (1993) he was present at many international festivals. Recently filmed Losansky 1999 Grimm's Fairy Tales "Lucky Jack".
