A filmmaker known for: The Case of the Bloody Iris with George Hilton. A director whose death - obviously - did not deserve even a short article in the Italian newspapers.
So protested a fan on FACEBOOK and he's right.
Yet Giuliano Carnimeo had all the qualities to be a really great director, then the case and the needed drive of men on different roads to those in which he could express all his talent. However Giuliano made some good films that audiences liked a lot but did not arrive to touch noses often incompetent and receive critical acclaim.
We were fellows in a directing class at the Experimental Center of Rome in the years 1955/1957: FIRST he was on the list of fellows, I the second, Tonino Valerii was third. Then he worked with the brilliant Roberto Pariante with whom he aided as assistant director, also for random bottlenecks of life.
Giuliano Romano Benois, Angelo Sciarra, Alberto and Roberto Giommarelli Masignni made two mythical documentaries in Spain in the distant 1956, I wrote a book about those friendships and those adventures often hilarious: I WANT TO ENTER THE CINEMA published by Mondadori, and available on Amazon.
It 'another serious blow the death of Giuliano, even if I had not seen him for a long time, I’m at the risk of becoming the last of the Mohicans ...
