RIP Buff Douthitt

BUFF DOUTHITT Is with his savior Jesus Christ 10/29/24 9/4/2016 Buff was a Marine, serving in the South Pacific, during World War II. Buff was a versatile cowboy who lived an amazing life and was an accomplished Professional Rodeo Cowboy and was inducted into the National Cowboy Hall of Fame in 2001. Buff created an amazing trick roping act. He walked a slack rope (in cowboy boots) and trick roped, as well as placing a ladder on the slack rope and climbed the ladder while trick roping, appearing in television, state fairs and Las Vegas show rooms. Buff invented the first horse-house trailer and manufactured them commercially. He also manufactured travel trailers, motor homes and re-locatable houses for foreign markets. Buff and family moved to Santa Fe, NM where Buff found his way into movies as an actor. Buff also began team roping and won the New Mexico State Championships in 1996, at the age of 74 years old. Buff is survived by his wife Jane, daughter April Douthitt Dugger and his grandsons Drew and Jack Dugger; also his two sisters Effie Jo and Rachel of Roswell NM. Buff was preceded in death by his son Jason Douthitt. The family is having a memorial "Celebration of Life" honoring Buff on Saturday, September 10, 2016 at 2:00 pm at 192 San Marcos Loop, Santa Fe, NM.
